Florida show horse slaughter of Phedras de Blondel shows horse meat black market

Phedras de Blondel had just come in second at the race in Grand Prix of Le Pin, France. A few weeks later the prize-winning animal turned up brutally killed on a rural farm in Manatee County, Florida. The gruesome Florida show horse slaughter exposes the horse meat black market. Because sadly, said the Washington Post on Oct. 27, Phedras de Blondel isn't the first animal to be killed for his pounds of flesh (a delicacy in some places). He was destined to glorious things on the track. But only days afterwards, the 12-year-old animal's bloody carcass was found not far from his stall. Black market agents are suspected.   Florida show horse slaughter of Phedras de Blondel shows horse meat black market
