Today's tip is Timing vs. Tippy-Toe. Cute alliteration aside, what I mean is that couples need to be mindful of timing when springing negative things on each other. But they shouldn't always tippy-toe around each other for fear of upsetting the other person.
My husband works third shift. I'm in high gear in the evening when he gets up. I try to keep the conversation very neutral until he wakes up. He's learning to do the same with me in the mornings. He's also been sick. I'm not going to dump negative stuff on him. Like today, I have to tell him the muffler is making noise. I'll do that when he seems able to deal with it.
